I suppose now it is time for a little more of my technical stuff for
those of you who feel more inclined to analyze the chords before
you dive into a solo.

Diatonic 7ths for the Melodic Minor ascending.

Using the ascending melodic minor scale starting on C, our keyality has
only one flat-Eb. Chords then are: CEbGB=Cmi(maj7), DFAC=Dmi7,
EbGBD=EbMaj7#5, FACEb=F7, GBDF=G7, ACEbG=Ami7b5,
BDFA=Bmi7b5

This scale is most frequently used over the 1st and 3rd degree of the
scale situations, and most importantly, over altered chords.

The C melodic minor scale would be utilized over a B7alt. Any time you
have a dominant 7th chord which has been highly altered you just go
up a half step from the root and play in the keyality of the melodic
minor starting on that note a half step up from the root. G7alt=Ab
mel. min., C7alt=Db mel. min., etc...

Hope this gives all of you some more ideas!
